Jewish Life on Campus

The University of Florida is home to one of the largest Jewish student populations of any university in America, creating a vibrant culture of Jewish communal life, religious engagement, connection to Israel, and extracurricular learning.

UF’s vibrant Jewish culture enriches the academic environment. Students join Shabbat and Holiday meals, participate in Jewish fraternities, and build community through active Chabad and Hillel centers. The university actively supports Jewish life through holiday accommodations, Kosher dining options, and varied programming advancing Jewish culture and tradition. Some recent examples of Jewish life in action at UF include:

  • A 1000-Student Passover Seder with the UF President
  • Renowned Rabbi Meir Soloveichik as Sukkot Scholar-In-Residence
  • Panels of heroes and survivors of the October 7th massacre
  • An annual Jewish Film Festival
  • Some of the largest Birthright Israel trips in the world

Discussions are now underway to continue expanding the resources available to Jewish students—including additional Kosher dining options and special housing for religious students.
