Robert M. Beren Fellows

What is Robert M. Beren Fellows?

The Robert M. Beren Fellows program is for exceptional undergraduates who seek to explore the great ideas of Jewish and Western civilization while preserving the ability to major in any academic field or program at the University of Florida (such as business, natural sciences, technology, or economics). Robert M. Beren Fellows will have a demonstrated record of academic and extracurricular excellence and a commitment to civic and campus engagement on behalf of Jewish and American values.

Scholarship Award

Robert M. Beren Fellows will receive an annual fellowship stipend between $5,000 and $10,000 per academic year for all four academic years.

Core Program Requirements:

  • Completion of two core courses on Western Civilization offered by the Hamilton Center
  • Completion of a required cluster of four core courses offered by the Robert M. Beren Program in Jewish Classical Education
  • Academic study abroad in Israel
  • Participation in the extracurricular programming of the Tikvah Society for Jewish Thought, a student-led campus group at the University of Florida
