We are looking for intellectually curious and academically capable students with the character, drive, and spirit to become civic leaders.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Are international students eligible?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. International student status will not affect consideration for the Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">What role does demonstrated financial need play in selection?<\/strong><br \/>\nNone. Acceptance into the Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program is based entirely on the merit-focused and mission-focused criteria articulated above.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Can I defer the scholarship if I decide to take a gap year?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. Students who are accepted to the Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program are allowed to defer their scholarship if they are doing a gap year in Israel or elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">If I receive other merit scholarships from UF, can I still receive the Rosenthal-Levy scholarship?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. The Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program will pay the full remaining tuition after calculating all merit-based and need-based financial awards from the University of Florida or other third-party scholarships. All Rosenthal-Levy Scholars will also receive a $7,000 per year living stipend for all four years. (If a housing award is separately provided by the University of Florida or another third-party scholarship program, this stipend may be reduced.)<\/p>\n<h2>Application Process<\/h2>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Do I need to apply separately to the University of Florida and the Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. Candidates for the Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program need to apply separately and independently to the University of Florida through the early action, regular application, or transfer application process. Any scholarship offer is contingent on admission to the University of Florida.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Who should I list as a reference?<\/strong><br \/>\nWe ask for two references:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A teacher or educator who knows you well and can attest to your academic abilities<\/li>\n<li>A mentor, manager, or coach who can attest to your leadership skills and character<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">What is the deadline to apply to the Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> March 30, 2026<br \/>\n<strong>Decision Notification:<\/strong> April 24, 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Is there an advantage to applying early?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Rosenthal-Levy Scholarship maintains a highly selective admissions process. Candidates are strongly encouraged to submit applications as early as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">When should transfer applicants apply?<\/strong><br \/>\nTransfer applicants must apply during one of the three application rounds. Although final admissions decisions for transfer students won&#8217;t be released until summer 2026, submitting applications early provides the best opportunity for consideration.<\/p>\n<p>Recipients of the Rosenthal-Levy Scholarship will have their award communicated directly to the Hamilton School Transfer Admissions Committee, and this recognition will be factored into the transfer admission evaluation process.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">What should I do if my contact information changes during the application process?<\/strong><br \/>\nIf your contact information changes after submission of the application, please email <a href=\"contact@RosenthalLevyScholars.org\">contact@RosenthalLevyScholars.org<\/a>\u00a0with new information.<\/p>\n<h2>Academic Requirements &amp; Program Details<\/h2>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Do I Need To Be A Hamilton Major to Receive a Scholarship?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. Rosenthal-Levy Scholars will be required to complete at least one major at the Hamilton School.\u00a0 More information about the Hamilton School academic program can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/rosenthallevyscholars.org\/florida\/hamilton-center\/majors-courses\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Can Rosenthal-Levy Scholars also major in other fields?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. Rosenthal-Levy Scholars are permitted and encouraged to pursue additional academic Majors, Minors, and Certificates in any other college or department at the University of Florida\u2014including business, natural science, engineering, architecture, and other fields of learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Do Rosenthal-Levy Scholars get special academic advising?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. In addition to the high-level advising offered by the Hamilton School and other professionals at the University of Florida, our staff offers personalized advising, mentorship, and career advice. A full overview of the University of Florida\u2019s additional academic offerings can be found on the UF website.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">Can I combine this scholarship with participation in the UF Honors Program?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. We expect that many Rosenthal-Levy Scholars will also be admitted to the UF Honors Program.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">How does the Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program help launch my future career?<\/strong><br \/>\nOur programs places a major emphasis on providing mentorship, internships, advise, and training that help students define their career ambitions and take the next major steps in their careers. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Journalism &amp; Think Tanks<\/li>\n<li>Law<\/li>\n<li>Politics and Public Policy<\/li>\n<li>Jewish Classical Education<\/li>\n<li>Combatting Anti-Semitism<\/li>\n<li>Strategy, Diplomacy, and World Affairs<\/li>\n<li>Academia<\/li>\n<li>Religious and Communal Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Business and Entrepreneurship<\/li>\n<li>Science and Technology (including opportunities in Israel)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">If I already know advanced Hebrew, do I have to take additional Hebrew language classes as a Rosenthal-Levy Scholar?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo. While we encourage continued Hebrew language study, it is possible to place out of the Hebrew language requirement.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">What is the time commitment for extracurricular obligations, such as the Society for Jewish Thought?<\/strong><br \/>\nExtracurricular opportunities are an important part of the Rosenthal-Levy experience. The exact time commitment will vary greatly for each student, depending on his or her interests, role, and possible leadership responsibilities.<\/p>\n<h2>Housing, Jewish Life, \u00a0&amp; Campus Life<\/h2>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">What are the housing options for Rosenthal-Levy Scholars?<\/strong><br \/>\nUniversity of Florida students have a wide range of living options, including both on-campus residential housing and off-campus apartments geared towards undergraduate students. The Rosenthal-Levy Scholars program will work with each student to help identify the best housing options and facilitate roommate matches. Each student is ultimately responsible for his or her own housing decisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #000000 !important\">What are the resources for Jewish life on campus?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe University of Florida has one of the largest and most vibrant Jewish student populations in America.
